Chivalry

Knighthood and Master of Arms

These terms refer to the two separate, equal, and mutually exclusive orders of great merit, Knighthood and Master of Arms.  Membership in these orders are granted by the Crown (after consultation with the members of both orders together) to those who have achieved great skill in armored combat with the replica weapons used in the Society, and who also display those qualities of courtesy, grace, and familiarity with the arts and skills of the Society required by Corpora for such recognition.  Those who for personal reasons will not or may not swear fealty to the Crown when they join the Chivalry become Masters or Mistresses of Arms.

Knights swear fealty to the Crown upon entering the order, and to symbolize this bond, they wear a chain about their necks-usually unadorned, although a Knight who is also a member of one of the other orders of great merit may incorporate the badge of that order.  A knight also wears a white belt around his or her waists, and occasionally spurs as well.
